Ready to lead the commercial delivery of some of the UK’s most significant infrastructure programmes? We’re looking for an experienced Commercial Manager to play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering a major capital investment programme, valued up to £1bn, encompassing water infrastructure. Projects will involve the construction of storm overflows and the upgrading of wastewater treatment facilities near coastal regions. This is an opportunity to operate at the heart of programme delivery.

You will be driving commercial strategy, influencing senior stakeholders, leading high performing teams, and ensuring strong financial and contractual outcomes across complex infrastructure projects. Life doesn't always fit neatly into a 9–5, and this organisation recognises that. They support flexible working, helping you balance your career with the things that matter most outside work. With a 37 hour working week and only two days in the office, you should be able to find a really nice balance.

What you'll be doing:

  • Leading all commercial activity across major capital programmes
  • Developing and implementing strategies that deliver value, manage risk, and support successful project outcomes
  • Providing expert leadership on NEC contracts, cost management, forecasting, change control, and commercial negotiations
  • Driving contractor and consultant performance while fostering collaborative supply chain relationships
  • Leading, coaching, and developing Commercial Managers and Quantity Surveyors
  • Influencing programme boards and senior stakeholders to support key commercial decisions

To be successful in this position, it is felt that you will have:

  • Significant experience managing the commercial aspects of large scale infrastructure programmes (£500m–£1bn)
  • Strong NEC3/NEC4 contract expertise
  • Proven success in cost control, forecasting, change management, and commercial negotiations
  • Outstanding leadership, stakeholder management, and influencing skills
  • Experience managing commercial risk and delivering value for money
  • An HND or Degree in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management
  • Chartered status (RICS, CICES or equivalent)

On offer is a salary of around £95,000 along with an annual bonus of up to 20%, a £7,200 car allowance, private health care and a very generous employer pension contribution. If you're ready to make a real impact, help deliver essential infrastructure, and contribute to a sustainable future for millions of people, then please don't hesitate to apply via email.
