Role Overview
As the Senior Bid Writer, you’ll be responsible for producing high-quality, client-focused bid submissions that clearly articulate value, align with strategic objectives, and support business development goals. You will work cross-functionally with teams across the organisation to ensure submissions are timely, consistent, and of the highest standard.
Key Responsibilities
Creating Standout Submissions
- Lead the development of persuasive bid responses that showcase strengths, capabilities, and added value.
- Tailor submissions to meet client specifications, ensuring structure, clarity, and impact.
- Maintain and enhance a library of bid content, including case studies, team CVs, and standard responses.
- Assist in the preparation for presentations and interviews following submissions.
Ensuring Strategic, Quality, and Compliance Alignment
- Work closely with internal teams to ensure submissions reflect corporate values, operational standards, and compliance requirements.
- Conduct research and gather intelligence to shape compelling, targeted responses.
- Drive continuous improvement by refining bid processes and content.
Collaborating Across the Business
- Coordinate with business development, marketing, technical, and operational teams to gather input and align on messaging.
- Partner with creative or marketing colleagues to incorporate visual content that supports bid storytelling.
- Act as a brand ambassador, ensuring tone and messaging reflect professionalism and strategic positioning.
Commercial and Financial Insight
- Ensure all commercial elements of submissions are accurate and aligned with company objectives.
- Contribute to pricing narratives and commercial strategies within bid documentation.
Fostering a Strong Bid Culture
- Support knowledge sharing and mentor junior writers or contributors.
- Promote collaboration and consistency across teams contributing to bid efforts.
What Success Looks Like
- 90%+ success rate on PQQs, SQs, EOIs, and similar pre-qualification submissions.
- Consistently achieving 75%+ quality scores on written responses.
- High-quality, on-time, and on-brand bid submissions across all opportunities.
