The Role
We are looking for an experienced General Foreman to deliver a landside approach package for an RAF base near Oxford. You will be responsible for self-delivery of surfacing, earthworks, ducting, and AGL, navigating environmental challenges and ensuring high-quality project delivery. This is a hands-on role requiring independence, leadership, and strong technical knowledge. You will set up the site, manage subcontractors, and take full ownership of the package from start to finish.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and deliver the landside approach package, ensuring schedule and budget compliance.
- Set up the site, including temporary works, access, and logistics.
- Manage subcontractors and on-site teams, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency.
- Oversee surfacing, earthworks, ducting, and AGL installation.
- Navigate environmental challenges, including working across fields and rivers.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Support handover and follow-on works on the RAF base.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a General Foreman or similar leadership role in civil or aviation infrastructure projects.
- Strong experience with aviation ground lighting (AGL).
- Able to self-mobilise and lead a package independently.
- Experience managing subcontractors and multi-discipline teams.
- Comfortable working in challenging or remote locations.
- Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental compliance.
- Experience with Tier 1, Tier 2, or Tier 3 contractors is desirable.
