A major Water sector client is rapidly expanding its commercial services team, aiming to hire around 20 commercial staff over the next 6 – 12 months. This essential growth comes of the back of record levels of planned investment over the next ten years, amounting to nearly £20 billion. Other benefits that come with pivoting into an end client role: Opportunity to move from project level delivery into strategic, programme wide commercial management across major capital investments Exposure to multi billion pound programmes within a regulated sector Greater influence over procurement strategy, contract frameworks, and supplier performance A better work life balance with more predictable workloads, especially when compared to a Contractor environment Work within a collaborative, less adversarial commercial model, focused on long term value and partnerships As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be accountable for the commercial assurance of all financial and contractual aspects of contracted works in relation to a portfolio of projects, and you will oversee: Procurement and contract strategy development and implementation Development and implementation of key commercial controls Cost assurance, pre and post contract Process applications for payment from partners Forecast assurance Change control assurance Contract administration assurance Supply chain management and procurement support To be successful it is thought that you will: Be educated to HND or Degree standard in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management, or a related degree Hold strong knowledge of the NEC suite of contracts, or be able to display robust contract management practices, procedures and systems with JCT or FIDIC In return, you will receive an offer is a salary of between £45,000 – £55,000 per annum along with an annual bonus, a 12% employer pension contribution, life assurance, 25 days annual leave and a myriad of other benefits Piqued your interest?
