The client is a leading Energy & Utilities Infrastructure developer and the UK's largest provider of District heating solutions.
The Role: We are seeking a skilled Mobile Heating Engineer to maintain complex heating infrastructure. You will manage planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs. This mobile role focuses heavily on a flagship Energy Park development in East London. You will ensure maximum uptime for critical district heating and decentralized energy systems.
Key Duties:
- System Maintenance: Service commercial boiler plants, pumps, valves, and heat interface units (HIUs).
- Fault Diagnosis: Troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical faults on district heating networks.
- Reactive Repairs: Respond swiftly to system breakdowns to minimize resident and commercial downtime.
- Compliance Logging: Complete digital work orders, safety checklists, and compliance certificates daily.
- Remedial Works: Execute pipework modifications, component replacements, and system flushing.
- Emergency Standby: Participate in a rotating out-of-hours call-out roster.
Skills & Experience Required:
- Dual-Trade Expertise: Proven experience bridging both commercial plumbing and electrical disciplines.
- Heating Network Experience: Prior experience working on district heating schemes or energy centres.
- Electrical Competency: Ability to safely isolate, test, and wire heating controls, motorized valves, and pumps.
- Plumbing Proficiency: Strong competency in pipe fitting, soldering, and crimping commercial heating pipework.
- Problem Solving: Advanced diagnostic skills for complex, multi-zone hydronic systems.
- Tech Savvy: Ability to use mobile asset management apps for tracking jobs.
Qualifications:
- NVQ level 3 in Electrical maintenance or installation (essential)
- NVQ Level 2 in Plumbing and Heating (desirable)
