I have proudly partnered with a progressive and vibrant building consultancy in Central London. We are looking for a talented commercially focused Senior Building Surveyor to join the practice. The opportunity offers a diverse workload with a hybrid working week of three days in the office and two working from home.
We are looking for a confident forward-thinking professional to complement the group. You, the successful Senior Building Surveyor, will come from a proven commercial background and have experience in delivering accurate advice across the professional and project disciplines.
The position has arisen due to an increase in workload; my client has a strong pipeline of work going well into 2026. You will be joining an approachable and sociable atmosphere; weekends away, summer BBQs, and networking events are all benefits attached to this opportunity.

Daily responsibilities:
- Running smaller capital projects from inception to completion from £50k to £1M with the ability and confidence to report directly to clients and develop the client relationship.
- Assisting directors and associated with larger scale projects from £1M to £10M+.
- Liaising with and managing an external multidisciplinary design team.
- Preparation of specifications and a detailed understanding of various types of construction to assist our architectural team.
- A robust understanding of the main JCT forms of contract, particularly D&B and a good knowledge of CA and EA roles.
- Building survey/pre-acquisition survey experience of commercial and residential property.
- A working knowledge and experience of the Party Wall etc. Act 1996, preparing and serving notices and awards under the Act.
- A working knowledge of Landlord and Tenant issues, the Dilapidation Protocol including preparing and serving schedules and settlement negotiations.
- Submission of statutory applications.
- As a Senior Building Surveyor, you will play an active part in business development.
