T2 at Heathrow Airport is in the process of having its first dedicated bagged system installed to service the airport terminal. In order to accommodate the new system, a section of the terminal is being refurbished, with a target date of December 2027.
We are working with the building services contractor, who will be overseeing circa £60M of MEP services to be installed. Due to the departure of the existing Senior M&E Project Manager, we are looking for someone to take this project over, joining in the late stages of the preconstruction phase, then overseeing the install, commissioning and handover.
A lot of the works will be self-delivered, so you will have project engineers, construction managers and large teams of trades reporting upstream to you whilst you report to the head of our clients aviation division, the end client and various stakeholders.
It is essential that you have delivered large-scale M&E projects from pre-con to handover under an NEC3/4 form of contract. Ideally you will come from a background in rail, aviation, defence, or marine ports, having been trained as a mechanical or electrical engineer earlier in your career.
With the next framework (worth £10B) kicking off at Heathrow in 2027, this is an excellent time to integrate yourself to the campus and deliver one of the most prominent live projects in the H7 project cycle.
