This is a chance to join a Tier 1 contractor that genuinely invests in its people and in long term regional delivery. You will be working on secured framework projects which means stability, continuity and the opportunity to build a reputation across repeat schemes rather than chasing short term wins.
The regional civil division is a place where delivery comes first. Decisions are made close to site, teams are empowered to get on with the job and there is far less corporate politics than in many major contractors. You will be trusted to run work properly, supported by experienced managers and given the chance to grow through increasingly complex projects.
This is a business that promotes from within. Strong supervisors are developed into senior supervisors, site managers and beyond. If you want responsibility, ownership and a clear route to progression, this is the right environment.
You will initially be based on a high profile cycle lane and public realm scheme valued at around £8m, delivered under the YOR civil framework. The project will run for approximately 12 months and is being delivered through self delivery which gives the site team real control over programme, quality and outcomes.
You will be one of two Site Supervisors on site, working closely with the Site Manager and project team to run the day to day operation.
As Site Supervisor you will take ownership of your section of works and play a key part in the overall site leadership. You will be responsible for driving safe, high quality and efficient delivery across public realm and highways activities.
This role suits someone who is comfortable taking responsibility, planning and coordinating work and making things happen on site. You will be supported by a strong project team but you will also be trusted to manage your work area with confidence and professionalism.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Day to day supervision of site activities
- Managing labour, plant and materials
- Coordinating subcontractors and self delivery teams
- Ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme and to specification
- Maintaining excellent standards of housekeeping and public interface
- Working closely with the Site Manager and engineers to plan and deliver the works
We are looking for a Site Supervisor with strong experience in public realm, highways and civil engineering works. You will have a proven background delivering similar schemes such as cycleways, urban streets, footways, drainage and associated civils.
You will be organised, proactive and confident in running your area of the site, able to keep works moving and solve problems as they arise while maintaining high standards.
You will ideally have:
- Experience on public realm or highways projects
- Background working for a main contractor or major civils business
- Strong understanding of safe systems of work
- Ability to plan and coordinate multiple work fronts
- Good communication skills with site teams, subcontractors and the client
- SMSTS or SSSTS and CSCS
What you will get:
- Permanent role with a Tier 1 contractor
- Long term work through a secured regional framework
- Exposure to high-quality civil and public realm schemes
- Real responsibility and influence over how projects are delivered
- Clear progression through the regional civil business
- Competitive salary, package and benefits
