Freelance Geotechnical Engineer - Bulk Earthworks (HS2)
Location: HS2 Major Infrastructure Project - Great Missenden
Duration: 12 months
Engagement: Freelance, Outside IR35 / CIS
What you'll do
- Monitor earthworks compliance with the Specification
- Identify dissolution features and advise on investigations
- Undertake daily inspections of formations, embankments, and cuttings
- Analyse geotechnical data to support design and quality reporting
- Advise site teams on mitigation and ground improvement measures
What we're looking for
- Degree in geotechnical / geological engineering or similar
- Minimum 2 years site experience in earthworks (exceptional graduates considered)
- Strong knowledge of soil mechanics and behaviour of various soil types
- Experience with Tier 1 infrastructure or major earthworks projects
- Confident in site inspections, reporting, and stakeholder liaison
