We’re working with a long-established and growing specialist contractor delivering high-quality interior and fit-out packages across the commercial, education, residential and mixed-use sectors. They typically deliver projects ranging from £400K to £10M+, with a core focus on drylining, partitions, suspended ceilings, structural framing systems and full fit-out packages. With offices in Central London and the midlands, our client offers a clear strategy for continued expansion, this is a business that offers strong project exposure alongside genuine long-term career progression.
The Role
This is a hands-on, project-level position suited to a fit-out biased QS to support the commercial delivery of multiple live projects across London and the surrounding regions. You’ll be responsible for the commercial management of projects from pre-construction through to final accounts, working closely with Project Managers, site teams and senior commercial leadership. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants responsibility, client exposure and a clear progression pathway, with the long-term aim of developing into a Commercial Lead as the business continues to grow.
What You’ll Do
- Oversee the full commercial lifecycle of commercial fit-out and refurbishment projects
- Prepare cost plans, budgets, cash flows and commercial forecasts
- Procure subcontract packages and manage subcontractor accounts
- Assess, value and agree variations and change control
- Produce accurate monthly valuations, CVRs and financial reports
- Support project teams with commercial advice, risk management and cost control
- Assist with final accounts and client negotiations
- Build strong working relationships with clients, consultants and supply chain partners
- Contribute to the development and improvement of commercial processes
About You
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within commercial fit-out or refurbishment
- Experience working for a main contractor or fit-out contractor
- Strong understanding of construction contracts and commercial best practice
- Confident and professional client-facing communicator
- Commercially astute with strong attention to detail
- Organised, proactive and capable of managing multiple priorities
- Ambitious and motivated to progress into a senior commercial or commercial lead role
