Fit-Out Estimator Salary: Negotiable Location: Site and Office based. Contract Type: Permanent Department: Fit Out Hours: 45 hours per week (7:00am – 4:00pm) We are currently seeking an experienced Fit-Out Estimator on behalf of one of our clients. This candidate will join and support the commercial team in their continued growth of a specialist fit-out division delivering high-quality projects across a range of sectors. Operating within a Principal Contractor environment, you will be responsible for producing accurate, compliant, and competitive tenders from initial enquiry through to contract award. This is a client-facing role requiring strong commercial awareness, technical capability, and the confidence to engage with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers throughout the tender process. Key Responsibilities Review tender documentation, drawings, specifications, and client briefs to determine full project scope Attend site and tender walkthroughs to validate information, identify risks, and propose proactive solutions Accurately prepare detailed cost estimates, including labour, materials, preliminaries, and subcontract packages Carry out full take-offs from drawings and specifications Coordinate with internal teams to ensure fully inclusive and compliant tender submissions Obtain, review, and negotiate competitive subcontractor and supplier quotations Produce tender programmes, scopes of work, qualifications, and clarifications Raise RFIs to resolve unclear or incomplete tender information Establish and develop new tender opportunities by interpreting specifications and drawings Submit quotations within agreed timelines while meeting departmental targets Attend pre-construction, tender review, and handover meetings Provide clear and structured handovers to the Contracts team following successful bids Maintain professional and confident communication with clients throughout the tender process Essential Requirements Proven experience within fit-out contracting and/or estimating Strong background in Principal Contractor estimating Good understanding of building regulations and construction sequencing Solid technical, numerical, and analytical skills Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and Microsoft Project Ability to manage multiple tenders and priorities simultaneously Strong written and verbal communication skills Professional and confident in client-facing environments Full UK driving licence with flexibility to attend UK-wide site and tender visitsKey Attributes & Behaviours Self-motivated, driven, and able to work under pressure Highly organised with strong attention to detail Collaborative team player with a positive, solution-focused approach Commercially aware with a focus on value and risk management Adaptable and proactive in fast-paced tender environmentsWhat’s on Offer Eligibility for the Employee-Owned Trust (EOT) after 12 months of employment Private healthcare and dental insurance Life insurance Pension scheme Length of service recognition TradePoint discount scheme Access to private financial advice A wide range of family-friendly benefits
