Location: Oxford

Contract: Long Term Freelance

Sector: Major Infrastructure / Highways

Duration: 2 Years+

We are currently looking for an experienced Structures Site Agent to join a Tier 1 contractor delivering a major infrastructure scheme based around Oxford. This is a strong opportunity for an experienced Site Agent looking for long term freelance work, with the potential to earn significantly more than a typical permanent Site Agent position while working on a major infrastructure project. The role offers a long term pipeline of work and the opportunity to take genuine ownership of a substantial structures package rather than simply overseeing individual site activities.

You will be responsible for the delivery of a circa £35m structures package, including a 500m viaduct, major reinforced concrete structures and bridge works.

The Role

  • Take ownership of the day to day delivery of a circa £35m structures package, including major bridge, viaduct and reinforced concrete works
  • Plan and sequence the works, developing short term programmes and lookaheads to ensure activities are properly resourced and coordinated
  • Manage and coordinate specialist subcontractors, ensuring works are delivered safely, to programme and in accordance with the required quality standards
  • Work closely with the Project Manager and site engineering team to manage construction sequencing, design information, temporary works and technical queries
  • Monitor progress against programme, identify potential delays and constraints, and put recovery measures in place where required
  • Coordinate interfaces between the structures package and wider highways, earthworks and infrastructure works
  • Oversee quality, RAMS, ITPs, inspections and construction records throughout the delivery of the works
  • Lead and manage the site team, ensuring clear direction, communication and accountability across the package

About You

  • Proven experience as a Site Agent, Sub Agent, Package Manager or similar within major civils or infrastructure
  • Strong experience delivering major structures, bridges or viaducts
  • A proven track record of planning and running construction works, with the ability to take ownership of a package from planning through to delivery
  • Strong subcontractor management experience
  • Experience working on major infrastructure projects with a Tier 1 contractor or major civils contractor
  • Good understanding of construction programmes, sequencing, temporary works and quality requirements
  • Strong communication and coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple interfaces and stakeholders
  • Relevant civil engineering qualification or equivalent experience

The Opportunity

  • Long term freelance position with a major Tier 1 contractor
  • Opportunity to earn strong freelance rates over a sustained period circa £35m structures package with significant bridge and viaduct works
  • Genuine ownership and responsibility for the delivery of the package
  • Major infrastructure project with a substantial programme of works
  • Oxford based project

If you are an experienced Structures Site Agent who is looking for a long term freelance opportunity and wants the responsibility and earning potential that comes with running a major structures package, this could be a strong opportunity.
