We are currently in the process of hiring a Commercial Manager to oversee the estimation of costs, material quantities, and project timelines on Commercial, Residential and Hotel projects in Zone 1, Central London.

The successful candidate will be working and reporting directly to the lead project manager as well as working closely alongside external client staff, key stakeholders, and the internal team. You will be expected to be fully responsible for the management of specific tasks while on-site.

As a Quantity Surveyor, your principal roles and responsibilities will include:

  • Procurement of packages in line with the Procurement schedule
  • Review & certification of subcontractor applications
  • Monthly upstream valuations and invoice raising
  • Management of variations (upstream and downstream)
  • Reviewing and pricing VE opportunities
  • Responding to enquiries with Quotations as per the framework process
  • Fortnightly review of direct labour with the PM, including certificates and notices
  • Ongoing cost control and pursuit of betterment
  • Monthly CVR reporting and HQ review meetings
  • Delay notification (following internal agreement)
  • Cashflow forecasting and management of special payment terms
  • Ensuring timely cash collection
  • Payroll submission to Accounts
  • Active participation in weekly project meetings
  • Resolution of commercial/contractual issues
  • Maintaining strong relationships with the CM, client, and team
  • Representing our company values, ethics, and professionalism throughout
  • Estimating or assisting with estimates when required.

Essential criteria:

  • Must have 3+ years of Commercial Manager Experience.
  • Experience working for a principal contractor.
  • Effective analytical thinking skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Be available to start within the next 2 weeks.
  • Able to be based in Central London 4 days a week.
