Job Description
People Group are recruiting for Civil Engineers to support a leading rail consultancy who have won the majority of the engineering works in the North West & Central, and Eastern regions on CP7 frameworks.\\n\\nOur client will offer you a clear career path and options to work on other rail programmes they have in the UK, Dublin, Canada, and Saudi Arabia for the foreseeable future.\\n\\nCompetitive Salary + Car Allowance + Package\\nYork – 3 days Office, 2 days Home – ad-hoc site visits between York and London Kings Cross\\n\\nYou’ll be responsible for:\\n\\nCoordination of work with other contractors\\nLiaising with route engineers (discipline).\\nParticipating in all engineering and development assurance activities so that they result in affordable schemes, and that meet programme requirements in a safe & environmentally responsible manner for time, cost, and quality.\\nParticipating in the engineering assurance process, considering safety, reliability, maintainability, ease of construction, and environmental/whole life issues. Engineering excellence is to be supported by:\\nReviewing compliance with appropriate standards.\\nUsing risk ID and evaluation methods (e.g. HAZOP, QRA, etc.), as suitable, to evaluate and compare options.\\nAssuring (or undertaking, where applicable) the development of the selected single option.\\nAssuring (or undertake where applicable) the preparation of the full engineering assurance package required for commencement of the detailed design, and participate in answering clarifications/queries as needed.\\nCarrying out engineering verifications.\\nManaging the engineering interfaces of allocated proposals with concurrent work in other disciplines.\\nActing as or liaising with the appropriate project engineer so that method statements for site works and surveys are produced and approved to the required standards.\\nAssuring that contractors’ design, construction, and specialist personnel are competent.
(CEM/CRE appointment etc.)\\nYou’ll need to have:\\n\\nShall preferably be a chartered engineer and have a relevant engineering degree (BSc/BEng or equivalent) with a minimum of 3 years of general relevant experience.\\nWorked client-side for Network Rail as a Project Engineer.\\nShall have a sound understanding of the Construction, Design and Management (CDM) 2015 regulations, & common safety method (CSM) 2013 regulations, specifically the requirements associated with asset protection on third-party, major, and minor projects, always with the customer in mind.\\nShall have a sound understanding of Network Rail's handback process, Track support zone process, and Quality Management process
