People Group has proudly partnered with a construction consultancy in London to support the growth of their H&S division with the appointment of a CDM / Principal Designer. Our client is a well-established medium-sized consultancy with a strong presence across the commercial sector, while also delivering projects within the industrial and retail spaces. They are looking to add an ambitious and well-rounded professional to the team ideally someone from a consultancy background with experience working alongside blue-chip clients. The role is based in Central London, with around 80% of projects located across Zones 1 & 2. You'll be leading several multi-million-pound schemes, delivering exceptional health & safety and Principal Designer services across a varied portfolio.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver a comprehensive range of CDM 2015 services
  • Act as Principal Designer across multiple schemes
  • Carry out site inspections and ensure RAMS are in place
  • Oversee and manage design risk registers
  • Prepare construction phase plans
  • Provide clients with detailed H&S guidance and expertise
  • Liaise with architects, contractors, developers, and designers
  • Identify opportunities to further improve compliance
  • Deliver Building Safety Act advice and support

Requirements

  • Degree qualified within construction (desirable)
  • NEBOSH Construction Certificate
  • Member of IOSH, APS, IIRSM, or similar professional body
  • Strong understanding of CDM 2015 Regulations
  • Understanding of the Building Safety Act
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Full UK driving licence
