The role
People Freight is looking for a Trainee Recruitment Consultant to join our team in Brislington, Bristol. We specialise in recruiting for freight forwarding and logistics companies across the USA. You will be speaking with clients and candidates throughout the US, building relationships and helping companies find the right people for their teams. Previous recruitment experience is not required. We can teach you recruitment.
What you need to bring
- A strong work ethic
- Commitment
- Determination to keep going when things do not go your way
You will be trained to manage the full recruitment process, including:
- Speaking with candidates across the USA
- Making outbound calls and building relationships
- Searching LinkedIn and job boards for suitable candidates
- Interviewing and screening candidates
- Writing candidate profiles and job adverts
- Introducing candidates to clients
- Arranging interviews and managing feedback
- Developing relationships with freight forwarding companies
As your experience grows, you will begin managing your own vacancies, clients and candidate network. Recruitment can be rewarding, but it is not always easy. Candidates change their minds, clients do not always respond and not every call goes to plan. You will need the resilience to keep going and the commitment to follow through.
Who we are looking for
You do not need recruitment experience, but you must be:
- Confident speaking with people over the phone
- Comfortable making outbound calls
- Reliable and committed
- Motivated by targets and earning commission
- Resilient when things do not go your way
- Organised and able to manage several tasks at once
- Clear and professional in written and spoken English
Experience in sales, telesales, customer service, hospitality or a call centre may be useful, but it is not essential. This role would suit someone who is confident, competitive, willing to learn and prepared to put the work in to build a successful career in recruitment. This is not a quiet administration role. A large part of your day will involve speaking with candidates and clients, so you must genuinely be comfortable using the phone.
What we offer
- Commission with a realistic first-year OTE of £31,000
- A four-day working week
- Every Friday off
- 36 working hours per week
- Full training and ongoing support
- Clear opportunities to progress
- The chance to increase your earnings through performance
- Experience working within the US freight and logistics recruitment market
- A small team where your effort and contribution will be noticed
