Our client is a well-established, small and friendly care home in Wokingham. They pride themselves in providing high quality care and support in a homely environment and have earned a good reputation in the area. They are currently looking for a Deputy Manager to support the Registered Manager in the smooth running of the home.

As part of the role, you will work some of your day on the floor, spending time with the residents, administer medication and support the care staff team; you will undertake managerial tasks such as staff supervision and appraisal; help with administrative tasks to support the Registered Manager and take on some on-call duties.

Working hours are 8am to 4pm, 40-hours per week, including working every other weekend.

Requirements:
  • Previous experience of working in an elderly care home
  • Experience of working as a Senior HCA with responsibility of administering medication
  • NVQ Level 3 in Social Care or working towards this qualification
  • Excellent leadership and people skills
  • Good listening and problem-solving skills
  • The ability to work every other weekend
  • The willingness to undertake some weekend on call
