Your Role: Peer Support Worker at The Hub of Excellence

As a Peer Support Worker with us, you will be fully integrated into Rotherham Doncaster and South Humberside (RDaSH), receiving referrals from a variety of services. You will spend part of your week working in the Hub, engaging with the community, and collaborating with identified teams. Your goal will be to assist individuals in developing and accessing support within their local communities, whether it’s through existing resources from the People Focused Group or other local organisations.

This role isn’t just about support; it’s about fostering recovery. You will help create and facilitate Peer Support Group sessions while working with individuals to craft personal recovery plans based on your own experiences with mental distress or caregiving.

Main Duties:

  • Engage with a Diverse Caseload: Work with individuals in one-on-one and group settings, providing the support they need to thrive.
  • Utilise Your Life Experience: Harness personal experiences of mental health challenges to inspire and guide others on their recovery journey.
  • Inspire and Motivate: Offer insight and encouragement to help individuals achieve their recovery goals.
  • Build Strong Relationships: Develop effective partnerships with various external organisations and agencies.
  • Promote Our Services: Advocate for the Peer Support approach within the community and among partner agencies.
  • Document with Care: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, adhering to best practices.
  • Embrace Our Values: Work in alignment with the values, ethos, and vision of both RDaSH and People Focused Group.
  • Stay Compliant: Follow all relevant policies and procedures, including Health and Safety, Information Governance, and Safeguarding.
