What You\’ll be Doing:

  • Handle the oil trading-related settlements in a timely and accurate manner, which will involve:
  • Settle the trading activities including but not limited to cargoes, freight, shipping costs, insurance, inspections, demurrage, brokerage, and other non-cargo costs.
  • Review the trade contract terms and service agreements for settlement purposes
  • Confirm bank account details and payment amount with the trading counterparty.
  • Invoices due date control, raising payment and invoices and post in SAP
  • Ensure incoming & outgoing funds receipt or payment shall value on time, AP & AR aging follow-up
  • Liaise with the trading desk and operators to resolve any potential issues or disputes to ensure accurate and timely payments and claims
  • Prepare relevant trade-related data and statistical tables.
  • Provide activities performance analysis information
  • Other tasks assigned by CFO

The Skills You\’ll Need to Succeed:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance /accounting or equivalent.
  • Relevant experience in settlements in Europe.
  • Proficiency in SAP is required; S4 HANA knowledge is a strong advantage.
  • Solid knowledge of accounting and finance principles.
  • Thorough understanding of the settlement process including trade lifecycle.
  • Knowledge of settlement activities, the trade life cycle and trading systems.
  • Experience dealing with trading counterparties within the oil & energy industry.
  • Excellent problem solving and numerical skills; ability to seek information and interpret data from multiple sources in order to resolve problems or implement new processes.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, stay calm and work well under pressure to meet competing deadlines in an environment where speed & accuracy are essential.
  • Good product knowledge and experience with Crude Oil, or LNG, Refined Products, (bio) Marine Fuel and Petrochemicals products is desirable.
  • Relevant experience in Oil & Gas trading company is preferred but not essential.
  • Strong learning and communication skills.
  • Preference for candidates with knowledge of Dutch tax system.
