To be successful in this role our client has said it is essential that candidates:

  • Have a degree in Business Administration, Management, Financial and Accounting Studies or Economics.
  • Have strong skills in Microsoft and advanced in Excel.
  • Have research and analysis knowledge.

Summary:

A Graduate Credit Risk Analyst is required to learn to perform daily credit risk management tasks, and to develop and maintain a thorough understanding of risks associated with crude trading as well as shipping trading. He or she will perform credit risk management functions under the supervision of the Risk Manager.

What You'll be Doing:

  • Conduct initial and ongoing compliance checks on all existing and prospective counterparties for shipping trading.
  • Conduct counterparty assessments (periodic and ad hoc).
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders on credit related issues.
  • Prepare credit applications for local and HQ signoffs.
  • Enhance internal processes and procedures in consultation with relevant departments.
  • Recommend changes in credit limits/approval status for senior management approval.
  • Monitor counterparty exposure and control credit status of approved counterparties.
  • Maintain consistent and thorough counterparty records.
  • Manage credit collateral.

The Skills You'll Need to Succeed:

  • Spoken and written Mandarin to native level.
  • Educated to degree level or degree level qualification, good base of knowledge on business administration, management, financial and accounting studies or economics can be advantageous.
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office, advanced Excel skills.
  • Potential to gain solid understanding of counterparty risk.

The role is for fresh graduates; hence work experience is not a compulsory element, but research and analysis knowledge will make the candidate highly prepared for the programme. A deep involvement with compliance and regulatory risk mitigation is part of the role, but the candidate will receive training on the job.
