Your New Job Title: Assistant Vice President Business Risk, Mandarin speaking

The Skills You'll Need:

  • Solid experience from commercial banking or capital markets background.
  • Fluent Mandarin.
  • Hybrid, 1 day WFH. For the first 1 or 2 months it will be all 5 days in office until all is settled.
  • Perm Start: ASAP
  • Working hours: 35 hours

To be successful in this role our client has said it is essential that candidates:

  • have fluent Mandarin.
  • have experience from commercial banking or capital markets background.
  • have solid UK banking experience of the different types of risks in FI business area.

What You'll be Doing:

  • Understand different types of FI clients and their business nature, closely monitor and evaluate client portfolio, market trends, regulatory updates, and internal policy changes to provide thorough analysis for business decision making process.
  • Support HoD to develop and maintain a comprehensive governance framework.
  • Familiar with both HO and local requirements, update and improve FI business procedures on a timely manner, and oversee the business execution, identify and document controls in the business that meet Bank’s and regulatory requirements.
  • Act as the key point of contact on the credit risk, market risk and liquidity risk matters or initiative in FI business area, maintain effective end-to-end engagement with 2LoD and HO to report FI risk control environment and improvement in accordance with all relevant requirements.
  • Participate and coordinate with working groups and project teams as required, e.g. RWA, EC, ICAAP and ILAAP.
  • Design and implement FI business line measures and procedures as required.
  • Other tasks as and when assigned.

The Skills You'll Need to Succeed:

  • Solid experience from commercial banking or capital markets background.
  • Solid understanding in different types of risks in FI business area, both financial and non-financial.
  • Good wholesale banking product knowledge, especially for FI.
  • Strong knowledge on regulatory, legislative requirements for FI business.
  • Client facing experience, client centric attitude and attention to detail.
  • Programming knowledge.
  • Problem-solving initiative, result-driven work style and efficient communication approach.
  • University degree or above.
  • Demonstrated Risk Management experience gained in financial industry environment or consultancy / Audit, preferable in FI business area.
  • Strong understanding of financial products, services, process and risk management process.
  • Excellent analytical / statistical and problem solving skills, excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Team player, proactive working attitude and strong self-discipline.
  • Proficiency MS Office Suite (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio etc.).
