A leading global consumer packaged goods (CPG) business.
The Role
Reporting to the CEO/Managing Director, the Head of Logistics & Fulfilment will lead the company's end-to-end warehousing, fulfilment and outbound logistics operations.
This is a hands-on leadership role, working closely with Supply Chain, Demand Planning, Finance and Customer Service to ensure orders are delivered accurately, on time, and cost-effectively.
Operations & Fulfilment
Oversee three in-house fulfilment sites and 3PL relationships ensuring high standards of accuracy, productivity and customer service.
Establish and manage KPIs including OTIF, order accuracy, throughput, cycle time and cost per order.
Oversee goods receipt, inventory control, quality control, picking, packing and dispatch activities.
Plan labour and warehouse capacity to meet forecast demand, seasonal peaks and promotional activity.
Standardise processes, SOPs and quality standards across all locations.
Manage operational budgets, headcount and consumable spend while identifying cost-saving opportunities.
Ensure compliance with health & safety, employment legislation and product-handling requirements.
3PL & Logistics Management
Own SLA performance, cost control, inventory reporting and continuous improvement initiatives.
Evaluate market options and lead future 3PL tenders, transitions or expansions where required.
Oversee carrier, courier and freight relationships.
Negotiate contracts and optimise shipping costs without compromising service levels.
Analyse logistics performance, identify inefficiencies and drive packaging and shipping improvements.
Manage returns processes to maximise efficiency and stock recovery.
Systems, Projects & Continuous Improvement
Use ERP and WMS data to drive operational decisions and performance.
Lead WMS and logistics technology improvements to enhance visibility, control and efficiency.
Deliver automation, process improvement and cost-reduction initiatives.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement through performance reviews and root-cause analysis.
Develop contingency and business continuity plans covering operational, IT and carrier disruptions.
Stakeholder & Team Leadership
Collaborate with Supply Chain, Demand Planning, Finance, Customer Service, Commercial and Marketing teams to align fulfilment capacity, budgets and service delivery.
Provide accurate logistics forecasting and reporting.
Lead, coach and develop Site Managers and their teams across multiple locations.
Build a culture of accountability, safety, engagement and high performance.
Partner with HR on recruitment, development and retention strategies.
Skills & Experience Required
Extensive logistics, warehousing or fulfilment management experience within e-commerce, retail, FMCG or CPG sectors.
Proven success managing multi-site warehouse and fulfilment operations, ideally across multiple countries.
Strong experience managing 3PL providers, including SLA management, contract negotiation and performance improvement.
Expertise in carrier and freight negotiations across domestic and international markets.
Track record of delivering measurable service improvements and cost reductions in high-volume D2C environments.
Strong commercial, financial and analytical skills.
Experience with ERP and WMS platforms
Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
Solution minded and hands on leader.
Able to work effectively across cultures and time zones
