About the role
The Banking department's main responsibility is to deliver excellent customer service as well as market and promote products and services that the Bank offers to its customers whilst adhering to Head Office's and regulatory bodies' requirements. As a Senior Associate Customer Due Diligence - Mandarin Speaking, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with AML, KYC and regulatory standards through effective monitoring and risk controls. You will conduct CDD, oversee banking operations and support regulatory reporting requirements, while driving operational excellence. This is a full time permanent position.
Mandarin speaking Senior Associate Customer Due Diligence - What You'll be Doing:
- Conduct daily transaction monitoring to ensure alerts are effectively managed
- Identify potential money laundering trends and red flags to determine whether further investigations are required
- Complete CDD reviews for existing clients within the required timeframe and ensure the quality of reviews conducted
- Ensure all CDD reviews meet the standards of the Financial Crime and Compliance department and maintain a consistent approach
- Liaise with relevant internal teams regarding any discrepancies or additional information required
- Resolve customer queries and issues promptly
- Authorise daily transactions and ensure operations comply with internal policies and regulations
- Liaise with customers regarding Source of Wealth (SOW) and Source of Funds (SOF) as part of the ongoing CDD reviews
- Ensure clear communication with customers to gather required information for compliance purposes
- Provide guidance in resolving complex or infrequent processes and operational challenges
- Undertake any other tasks when required
Mandarin speaking Senior Associate Customer Due Diligence - The Skills You'll Need to Succeed:
- Degree educated in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or other relevant subject
- Relevant experience within Financial Services, ideally Banking
- Demonstrated experience in AML, KYC and CDD, including client on-boarding, periodic reviews or remediation projects
- Experience in analysing complex corporate customer ownership structures
- Comprehensive understanding of Banking operations is preferred
- Knowledge in relevant legislations such as FATCA, JMLSG, AML and FCA
- Proficient understanding of GDPR requirements
- Knowledge of regulatory, legislative requirements and best practices for financial crime compliance, including sanctions, fraud, AML/CTF, ABC and other related areas
- Excellent English and Mandarin communication skills
