Construction Estimator in Cambridge

Fantastic opportunity for an experienced main contractor general building Estimator to join our client, a specialist in restoration, conservation and general construction strip out and refurbishment projects.

Location PE7, East Peterborough, Cambridgeshire.

Full time permanent.

Hybrid role (1-2 days in the office per week).

Salary c£60k + company vehicle provided + Benefits

Duties and responsibilities include:

• Complete and submit PQQs
• Generate own enquiries via planning authority websites and portals
• Take off quantities from drawings
• Prepare and issue subcontract and material supply enquiries
• Complete tender documentation for submission
• Prepare specifications and/or contractor proposals
• Post tender negotiations
• Assist/support with Post Contract (QS) tasks.

Key skills & experience required include:

• Main contractor/ general building sub-contractor Estimator, QS/Estimator for all elements of a strip-out/refurbishment (not just a singular package)
• Experienced in pricing from drawings, all packages (excluding electrical and plumbing), construction refurbishment/strip out projects
• Confident and experienced client facing (architects, clients, contractors)
• Excellent planning, negotiation, problem solving, attention to detail skills
• Ability to build and maintain client relationships
• Good grasp of Architectural Drawings/Details and be knowledgeable about the construction industry as whole
• Excellent IT skills (MS Office – Word, Excel, Outlook)

Working hours:

Monday-Friday 8am to 5pm, 40 hours per week
