Overview

Our client is an international bank.

Responsibilities

  • Be responsible for all regulatory returns, including FCA, BoE, HMRC and FATCA & CRS for the bank
  • Put in place and operate anti‑money laundering controls and procedures and carry out money‑laundering risk assessments
  • Communicate with law enforcement and make reports; maintain keen eye for detail
  • Establish, implement and maintain adequate policies and procedures designed to detect any risk of failure to comply with obligations under the regulatory system and to counter the risk that the bank might be used to further financial crime
  • Advise and assist relevant persons responsible for carrying out regulated activities to comply with the bank's obligations
  • Ensure adequate training and guidance for staff on all aspects of compliance‑related and anti‑money laundering matters
  • Oversee the firm's compliance with the regulator's rules on systems and controls that prevent the firm being used for money laundering and terrorist financing purposes
  • Receive and evaluate suspicious activity reports from staff
  • Assess whether suspicious activity or transaction signifies possible money laundering or terrorist financing
  • Report suspicious activity or transaction to the National Crime Agency (NCA) by completing and submitting a Suspicious Activity Report and provide additional information to NCA when required
  • Request NCA consent to continue with any reported transactions and ensure no illegal transactions continue
  • Train staff in preventing money laundering and following regulation

Skills and Qualifications

  • Solid experience across financial markets regulatory obligations
  • Excellent relationship and communication skills, ability to drive regulatory compliance and commercial solutions
  • Ability to update fit‑for‑purpose compliance policies, procedures, and controls, perform targeted compliance testing, and manage regulatory filings
  • Eligible to work in the UK
  • Good communication in English; Chinese is a plus
  • Self‑motivated, team player, good communication, circumspection, ability to work independently, dependable, flexible
