Community Dance Practitioner – Older Adults

Experience working with older people is a bonus, but not essential — what matters most is your heart, energy, and willingness to learn.
Role
- Paid £35 per 45‑minute session (invoiced monthly, paid on the 1st)
- Classes are typically held at 11am, 2pm or 3pm
- All successful applicants will complete 3–6 weeks of unpaid training before leading classes.
Requirements
- Enhanced DBS certificate
- Willingness to undergo training
- In line with government guidelines, those working in care homes must be fully vaccinated against COVID‑19
- Right to work in the UK.
Responsibilities
- Lead engaging Hip Hop dance workshops for older adults in care and community settings (mainly chair‑based)
- Create a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment for all participants
- Adapt movement and choreography to suit varying abilities and needs
- Build positive relationships with participants, care staff, and community partners
- Represent The Blair Academy’s values of joy, compassion, and professionalism
- Maintain punctuality, organisation, and clear communication with the team.
