Reporting to the Director Corporate Services, this position plays a critical role in ensuring the Shire meets its legislative, statutory and financial obligations while delivering efficient, customer focused corporate services. The role combines operational oversight with strategic leadership and is integral to supporting Council, Executive Leadership and the broader organisation.
About the Role:
Reporting to the Director Corporate Services, the Manager Corporate Services provides senior leadership across the Shire’s finance, governance and procurement functions, ensuring strong financial management, legislative compliance and high quality corporate service delivery.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading budgeting, financial reporting, audit, risk and governance processes in accordance with the Local Government Act 1995 and Council policies.
- Providing high level professional advice to the Executive Leadership Team and Council to support informed decision making.
- Driving continuous improvement in systems, processes, controls and service delivery.
- Leading and developing a high performing team, fostering a professional, accountable and customer focused culture.
This role offers the opportunity to contribute strategically while maintaining strong operational oversight in a complex and highly regulated local government environment.

You are a confident and experienced senior leader with strong expertise in finance, governance and corporate services, ideally within a local government or similarly regulated environment. Skills And Experiences:
Essential:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications or extensive experience in management, finance, governance and/or procurement in the Local Government sector or similar discipline.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively monitor own workload to ensure competing priorities are balanced and delivered within tight timeframes.
- Sound knowledge of Local Government Act 1995 and Regulations, legislative compliance and local government policies and procedures.
- Sound knowledge of information technology including computer systems and software operations.
- Demonstrated ability to produce statutory and non-statutory financial reports.
- Experience in managing external and internal audits and reviews.
- Experience in managing diverse teams.
Desirable:
- Knowledge of SynergySoft and IT Vision accounting software.
