40 hours/week, Monday to Friday, with overtime as required. We are currently seeking a skilled Welder/Fabricator with experience in shipbuilding or marine repair to join our team at our dry dock facility in Penzance. You will be responsible for carrying out welding tasks on various types of vessels and marine structures, including fabrication, structural repairs, and modification work in accordance with industry standards and safety regulations. This is a hands-on, physically demanding role suited to someone with a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a commitment to high-quality workmanship.
Essential Requirements
- NVQ Level 3 in Welding & Fabrication or equivalent
- Proven experience as a Welder in a shipyard, marine, or heavy industrial environment
- Competent in MIG, TIG, and MMA welding techniques
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and welding symbols
- Knowledge of UK welding standards and marine regulations
- Good understanding of safe systems of work in a dry dock or shipyard setting
- Physically fit and able to work in confined spaces, at heights, and in challenging conditions
- Full right to work in the UK
