The Senior Marketplace Trade Executive plays a key role in delivering sales, profitability, and brand objectives across Pentland Brands’ marketplace platforms. Acting as a trusted deputy to the Marketplace Trading Manager, this role owns day-to-day trading execution, performance analysis, and cross‑functional coordination during a period of maternity leave cover. This role is suited to an experienced trade or ecommerce executive ready to take on greater responsibility, ownership, and commercial exposure within a fast‑paced DTC environment.
How you’ll drive success:
- Deliver Marketplace Trading Performance
- Own the day-to-day trading performance of assigned marketplace accounts, supporting delivery of sales, margin, and brand targets.
- Produce and lead weekly trading reports, identifying performance trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Support trading reviews with clear insights and recommended actions to drive performance improvements.
- Forecasting, Planning & Stock Management
- Own elements of monthly forecasting and planning cycles, maintaining rolling forecasts and trackers.
- Work closely with Merchandise Planning teams to align assortments with marketplace demand and trading opportunities.
- Monitor stock availability and performance, proactively highlighting risks and supporting actions to improve availability and sell-through.
- Execute Commercial & Marketing Activity
- Lead the execution of agreed commercial and marketing plans across marketplace platforms.
- Coordinate with internal teams (Planning, Customer Operations, Brand Marketing, Paid Media) to ensure timely and accurate delivery of activity.
- Support alignment of marketplace activity with wider ecommerce trading calendars and priorities.
- Identify opportunities to improve trading processes, reporting, and ways of working.
- Share best practice, insights, and learnings across the wider DTC and ecommerce teams.
- Support evaluation of new marketplace opportunities or tests where required.
What you’ll need to thrive:
- Marketplace & Digital Commerce Experience
- Solid experience in ecommerce or marketplace trading roles.
- Strong understanding of ecommerce KPIs, trading levers, and commercial performance drivers.
- Commercial & Analytical Strength
- Confident working with data to drive decision-making.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience using reporting or analytics tools (e.g. SAP BW or similar).
- Ability to translate insights into clear actions and recommendations.
- Planning, Organisation & Ownership
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
- Comfortable managing multiple priorities and deadlines independently.
- Proactive, accountable, and solutions-focused.
