The Supply Chain & Sourcing Senior Finance Business Partner acts as the strategic financial partner to Pentland supply chain and sourcing leadership, including senior Operations and Sourcing stakeholders. Your mission is to shift Finance from a passive reporter of supply chain outcomes to an active driver of better ones. You will bring rigour to inventory management, transparency to cost structures, and credibility to the data that underpins global sourcing and operational decisions. In doing so, you will help establish Finance as a trusted voice that senior operational leaders proactively turn to.
What you’ll be doing:
- Inventory Management & Action-Driving Insight: Embed finance-led inventory insights that proactively identify high priority lines and drive coordinated commercial and operational action. Work with Merchandise Planners and commercial teams to establish a regular rhythm of actionable stock reviews, with a focus on improving overall stock health across Pentland. Understand fabric liabilities and develop clear analysis of the actions available to drive profitable outcomes.
- Inventory Integrity & Master Data Quality: Improve inventory and cost data integrity by proactively identifying and correcting master data and process exceptions, resetting Finance’s role from being accountable for errors to holding other functions to account for their own data quality. Enhance the accuracy, consistency, and reliability of master data across the supply chain by collaborating with cross‑functional teams to design, develop, and refine reporting tools. Lead the creation of new integrity checks and continuously improve reporting processes to ensure high‑quality, trusted data underpins all supply chain decision‑making.
- Supply Chain & Sourcing Cost Management: Strengthen supply chain and sourcing cost control through improved reporting on key cost areas, with early identification of risks and opportunities across the P&L. Support the delivery of a regular cost-to-serve view covering actuals, forecast, and budget across warehouse and fulfilment operations, including global consolidated views for senior leadership. Develop clear benchmarking of 3PL vs. in‑house costs to support strategic decision‑making, partnering with the SVP Global Supply Chain to evaluate changes to the operating model through robust financial analysis. Provide people cost reporting for the COO, including clear analysis of functional cost variances and improvements to the forecasting process by embedding budget holders directly into it. Own the preparation, consolidation, and submission of supply chain functional and margin budgets and forecasts, ensuring accuracy and clear accountability.
- Sourcing Finance: Partner with the SVP Global Sourcing and Supply Planning to drive structural improvements in product manufacturing options, with clear benchmarking of different manufacturer costs, volumes, quality, and speed. Deliver clear FOB changes reporting for the SVP Global Sourcing, ensuring visibility of cost movements and their impact on margin. Roll out consistent global product performance reporting and spend tracking to drive accountability among regional and functional stakeholders. Develop and distribute an executive‑level consolidated global file, ensuring clear visibility of product costs, forecast accuracy, and budget stewardship, and lead the coordination of product forecasting and annual budget submissions. Line manage at least one team member, providing clear direction, regular feedback, and development support to build a capable and motivated supply chain finance function. Foster a culture of high standards, intellectual curiosity, and continuous improvement within the team, driving quality in analysis and output. Work collaboratively across Finance, including with EMEA Commercial Finance peers and Central FP&A, to ensure consistency in approaches, definitions, and planning inputs.
What you’ll bring:
- Qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA or ACA) with 5+ years of post‑qualification experience.
- Proven experience in supply chain finance, operations finance or FP&A within a product‑led, consumer or retail business.
- Strong understanding of inventory management, cost‑to‑serve analysis and sourcing cost structures.
- Confidence working with large, complex data sets and a track record of improving data quality, reporting tools and master data processes.
- Strong business partnering skills, with the ability to influence senior operational and sourcing leaders and hold teams accountable for data quality and outcomes.
- Experience of budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis in an operational or supply chain context.
- People management experience and genuine commitment to developing others and building team capability.
- Comfortable working in a fast‑paced global matrix environment across functions and geographies.
Benefits: We offer a competitive salary, discretionary bonus, hybrid working, flexible start and finish times, generous holiday allowance, product discounts, sample sales, enhanced family‑friendly policies, healthcare support, gym and fitness discounts, cycle to work scheme and electric car scheme.
