This role is a 12 month fixed term contract. As the Marketplace Merchandiser for Speedo, you are the voice of the consumer in the region and the strategic connector between brand, product, and market. You'll lead the creation of consumer-right assortments and price positioning across Speedo's key markets in EMEA—optimising for growth, profitability, and brand equity.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Consumer-Right Assortments: Build and optimise the Speedo EMEA product assortment in collaboration with commercial and product teams, balancing local relevance with global brand strategy. Ensure tailored assortments for key strategic regions/partners to drive adoption and elevate brand perception. Create assortments using sell-in/sell-out, ROI, and margin data. Drive seasonal “less is more” editing, and focus on hero products, storytelling, segmentation, and credible outfit building. Own pricing inputs (and work closely with Pricing Analyst): lead on market pricing benchmarks, GBB (Good/Better/Best) architecture, consumer price perception, and competitive intelligence. Collaborate with Sales, Product and Finance to recommend pricing strategies that meet margin, volume, and brand equity goals. Help reduce complexity across pricing lists and support building simplified, scalable pricing frameworks.
  • Analytics & Performance Management: Lead performance analysis of the Speedo EMEA assortment across key metrics: ASP, margin %, adoption, sell-through, penetration. Deliver seasonal “lessons learned” analysis and embed insight into future planning cycles. Track competitor performance, market trends, category shifts, and regional white space opportunities—turning insight into action.
  • Forecasting: Own forecasting inputs: Partner with Sales and Planning to submit accurate volume forecasts by style/door/channel. Pressure test forecasts against historical data, market potential, and commercial ambitions to optimise buys and reduce overstock. Drive alignment between product strategy and financial planning—supporting sourcing accuracy and cost efficiency.
  • Go-To-Market & Sales Enablement: Deliver the Speedo regional GTM process: storytelling, range explanation, segmentation guidance and key line direction for commercial teams. Equip Sales with regionalised tools, key talking points and tailored content to maximise conversion. Attend and support sales launches and key partner meetings across priority markets. Act as the single point of contact between Product and Sales for the EMEA region—balancing brand ambition with commercial reality. Feed insights into the global briefing process and long-term roadmap planning to shape future innovation and investment focus. Partner with Planning, Finance, and DTC to ensure regional visibility, consumer-centric thinking and margin responsibility.

What you’ll bring:

  • Strong merchandising fundamentals across assortment planning, pricing, segmentation and line architecture.
  • Advanced analytical and commercial skills: you can read numbers and tell the story behind them.
  • Experience working with or influencing forecasting, demand planning and price positioning.
  • Strategic thinking and an instinct for the consumer, the competition and what good looks like at retail.
  • Consumer-obsessed, commercially sharp and brand proud.
  • Curious, proactive and adaptable—able to work across functions and move from detail to big picture with ease.
  • Strong communicator and influencer—confident presenting ideas and standing up for what’s right for the consumer and the business.
  • Comfortable with digital tools and evolving technologies; openness to AI and automation is a plus.

We offer a competitive salary, discretionary bonus, hybrid working, flexible start and finish times, generous holiday allowance, product discounts, sample sales, enhanced family-friendly policies, healthcare support, gym and fitness discounts, cycle to work scheme and electric car scheme.
