As Assistant Store Manager, you are the engine of the shop floor—connecting strategy to execution. You’ll support the Store Manager in delivering strong commercial results while ensuring the team delivers an exceptional, knowledgeable, and authentic brand experience. You’ll lead by example, stepping up to take ownership when needed and helping to build a high-performing, engaged team from day one.
What you’ll be doing
- Team Leadership & Coaching
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and development of the store team
- Lead shifts and act as manager-on-duty when required
- Coach team members to deliver strong service and product knowledge
- Commercial Delivery
- Drive performance against KPIs including sales, conversion, and ATV
- Use daily and weekly trading data to identify opportunities
- Support execution of visual merchandising and product launches
- Consumer Experience
- Deliver a hands-on, front-of-house leadership presence
- Ensure every customer interaction reflects Berghaus expertise and values
- Help the team confidently communicate technical product features
- Operations & Standards
- Support smooth day-to-day store operations (stock, processes, compliance)
- Maintain high standards across the shop floor and back-of-house
- Ensure the store is always customer-ready and brand-aligned
- Community & Brand Activation
- Support local initiatives, events, and partnerships
- Help position the store as part of the Manchester outdoor community
