Shape the work behind some of the world’s most loved sport, outdoor and lifestyle brands.
As the Senior Ecommerce Manager, you will play a critical role in the next phase of Pentland’s digital growth, shaping and delivering our ecommerce ambitions across multiple brands and markets.
Building on our recent move to Shopify, you’ll combine commercial leadership with hands‑on delivery, using your expertise in ecommerce trading and digital technologies to create compelling brand and product experiences that drive engagement, conversion and profitable growth. Working closely with Brand, Digital Marketing, Technology and Digital Product teams, you’ll deliver seamless customer journeys and unlock new opportunities for growth.
What you’ll be doing:
-
Set the ecommerce commercial vision, trading priorities and business plans across brands and markets, aligned with digital and brand strategies to drive profitable growth.
-
Own commercial delivery against ecommerce sales, margin and operating profit targets, using data, consumer insight and test-and-learn approaches to identify growth opportunities.
-
Embed scalable ways of working following the Shopify replatform, optimising trading, content, merchandising, promotions and store operations while meeting brand and market needs.
-
Maximise Shopify’s native capabilities and app ecosystem to simplify workflows, reduce manual effort and improve trading agility.
-
Partner with Digital Product, Technology and operational teams to shape platform improvements, prioritise requirements and establish clear ownership, governance, quality assurance and post-launch optimisation.
-
Build strong relationships across brands, regions and central teams to deliver compelling digital flagship experiences, online brand activations and seamless consumer journeys.
-
Collaborate with Digital Marketing and specialist teams to optimise acquisition, onsite experience, conversion and retention through testing, customer feedback and performance analysis.
-
Manage agency partnerships, budgets and performance, ensuring delivery against agreed commercial objectives.
-
Lead, coach and develop a high-performing ecommerce team, establishing clear responsibilities, effective ways of working and accountability for results.
What you’ll bring:
-
Experience in a senior ecommerce role within a multi-brand or international retail organisation, ideally fashion, footwear or sporting goods.
-
A strong track record of delivering consumer-centric ecommerce growth, with sound commercial judgement and P&L ownership.
-
Hands‑on experience working with Shopify (ideally Shopify Plus and Shopify Markets), including ecommerce trading, promotions, merchandising, content operations and multi‑market storefronts.
-
Experience establishing or improving ecommerce operating processes after a platform migration, with a focus on governance, team adoption and scalable ways of working.
-
Proven ability to partner effectively with a dedicated Digital Product function: translating commercial needs into clear requirements, collaborating on prioritisation and driving adoption of new capabilities.
-
Strong analytical skills, including experience with GA4 or equivalent analytics platforms, and the ability to turn customer and trading data into actions.
-
Robust understanding of digital marketing channels and their role throughout different customer journeys.
-
Experience in budgeting, forecasting and P&L management.
-
Good understanding of ecommerce UX, CRO and digital experience design.
-
A collaborative, influential stakeholder manager who can work effectively across Brand, Marketing, Product, Technology and regional teams.
-
Strategic in outlook but confident being hands‑on and translating plans into delivery.
-
Clear, engaging communicator who can explain performance, trade-offs and recommendations to senior stakeholders.
