We have been established for over 30 years and are an expanding business with a worldwide client base. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Junior level Garment Technologist looking to develop their career further within a fast-paced environment.
You will be part of a friendly, fast paced and experienced Technical team consisting of Garment Technologists, Graders, Pattern Cutters and Machinists.
The role:
- Preparation of all samples before the fit meeting: press/reference samples, specing initial samples, chasing production samples, uploading the PS chase up list.
- Measure and inspect samples for fit and quality, sewing on buttons, ensure samples are tagged up with date (e.g. sealer, factory PP, PS etc.).
- Writing up comments, providing admin support.
- Liaise with factories regarding fit comments and spec requirements.
- Understanding status reports and updating the critical path system.
- Check and request test reports.
- Chasing and gathering information, chasing correct trims, uploading sealing on visual.
- Preparing Tech Packs, filing pattern envelopes.
- Day to day general administrative duties, filling in for senior Tech in their absence, collecting/distributing post, general admin for GT team.
The Candidate:
- A minimum of 1 yearβs experience in retail or supplier environment, preferably with a high street supplier background.
- A degree or equivalent qualification in Fashion with a genuine interest in garment construction.
- An understanding of pattern cutting and garment manufacture.
- Solid experience using Microsoft Office and Excel.
- Good communication skills, using own initiative and being self-driven.
- Organisational skills, accuracy skills and being innovative with a proactive approach to problem solving.
