Fabric Buying Manager

Role Collaborate with key mills to drive new fabric trends, ensuring the first to market fashion and gaining market price intelligence on volume fabrics to enhance margins. Work closely with agents, mills, and manufacturers to ensure full transparency of fabric origins. Be self-motivated and proactive in showcasing new trims to design teams based on the latest market trends and products. Handle placement of production orders, negotiate prices, delivery schedules, and terms following the Purchasing Procedure. Manage purchase orders and oversee team activities within this scope. Support and contribute ideas for new fabric processes and best practices. Build customer trust and confidence through consistent fabric quality, working closely with the Fabric Technical team. Ensure bulk fabrics meet specifications and are shipped on time. Collaborate with Fabric Technologists to ensure fabric performance standards are met. Coordinate with Production, Logistics, and Sales teams. Report on and enhance relationships and service levels with Mills/Suppliers. Review external KPIs and plan key fabric trips, monitoring the performance of Mills/Suppliers. Coach and develop junior team members. Requirements Minimum of 5 years\’ experience in a senior role within the fabrics or fashion-related industry. Extensive knowledge of mass-market fabrics, trims, and composite materials in a competitive marketplace. Strong organizational and people management skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills across all levels. Proficiency with systems, preferably including ERP experience. High attention to detail, organizational, and coordination skills. Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities effectively. Proactive problem-solving skills and initiative. In-depth knowledge of fabric and garment textile constructions, testing, and manufacturing methods. Fluency in Mandarin, both written and spoken. #J-18808-Ljbffr
