Fabric Buyer
Reporting to: Fabric Buying Manager
Job Type: Full Time, Permanent (40 hours, 5 days per week)
We are currently seeking a motivated and proactive Fabric Buyer to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a passion for the fabric sourcing industry who thrives in a fast paced and deadline driven environment.
Responsibilities
- Manage PO Processes for Fabric orders, working with external suppliers and inhouse technologists.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with Fabric Mills & Suppliers.
- Update and manage the Bulk Fabric Critical Path
- Work cross functionally with Production, Logistics and Sales Teams
- Ensure fabric performance meets the required standards
- Negotiate pricing and terms with suppliers to maximize cost efficiency while maintaining quality
- Stay up-to-date with textile trends, innovations, and sustainable sourcing practices.
- Manage the fabric development process from initial sourcing to delivery, including lab dips, handlooms, and bulk approvals
Person Specification
- 2+ years of experience in fabric sourcing or buying.
- Strong knowledge of different fabric types, constructions, finishes, and testing requirements.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with PLM systems.
