Typical Activities
Working In Collaboration With Internal Stakeholders Across Sales, Marketing, Delivery And Partner Teams, The Head Of Central Government Accounts Will Lead The Strategy, Growth And Delivery Of a Portfolio Of Strategic UK Central Government Customers, Including
- Develop and execute a Central Government account strategy aligned to organisational growth objectives.
- Build and maintain a strong pipeline of opportunities across key departments and agencies.
- Create and implement multi-year account plans focused on revenue growth, customer satisfaction, and strategic outcomes.
- Establish trusted advisor relationships with senior government stakeholders, including Director, Deputy Director, SRO, CIO, CDO, Commercial and Procurement leaders.
- Deliver annual revenue, growth, and profitability targets, including new business and expansion opportunities.
- Lead complex, high-value sales cycles from opportunity identification through contract signature.
- Support framework-based procurement opportunities and competitive tender responses.
- Maintain deep knowledge of Central Government priorities, policies, spending trends, and transformation programmes.
- Lead account teams, working closely with solution specialists, delivery, marketing, and partner resources.
- Work with delivery and customer success teams to ensure contracted outcomes, renewals, and long-term value realisation.

- Significant experience managing and growing strategic Central Government accounts.
- Proven track record of delivering multi-million-pound revenue targets.
- Experience selling complex technology, digital transformation, or professional services solutions.
- Strong understanding of UK public sector procurement processes and frameworks.
- Experience influencing senior executives and decision makers within government organisations.
- Demonstrable success in leading complex sales opportunities and negotiations.
- Strong commercial, financial, and contractual understanding.
- Experience working with major technology providers and strategic partners.
- Knowledge of Crown Commercial Service frameworks.
- Experience operating within highly regulated environments.
- Degree-level qualification or equivalent experience.
