Typical Activities Include:
- Supporting the design, simulation, and development of electronic hardware, including schematic capture and PCB layout.
- Collaborating with subject matter experts to select components that meet product and system requirements.
- Assisting in fault diagnosis and engineering support activities to improve product performance.
- Documenting hardware specifications, design decisions, and implementation details.
- Gaining exposure to the full product development lifecycle, from requirements capture through to testing.
- Investigating emerging hardware technologies and assessing their relevance to future products.
- Working within multi-disciplinary teams, participating in planning and daily stand-ups.
- Engaging in STEM outreach initiatives and contributing to new outreach activities.
Skills & Experience
- A minimum 2:1 degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics or Robotics Engineering.
- Awareness of electronic circuit design principles, with experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Digital and analogue circuit design and simulation
- Schematic capture and PCB layout
- Familiarity with the stages of the product lifecycle.
- Ability to review and author technical documentation with guidance.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and a systematic approach to problem-solving.
- Proactive, self-motivated, and comfortable working individually or as part of a team.
Qualifications and Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for this position you must:
- Be on track to graduate by Summer 2026 with a 2:1 or above in a relevant degree.
- Be a British citizen, and;
- Hold or be eligible for UK National Security Vetting (NSV) – SC clearance.
