About the Company A highly successful international B2B provider of sports betting and gaming technology is seeking to appoint a Senior Legal Counsel to its Commercial Legal team, based in London, as part of the continued expansion of its global legal function. The organisation provides a comprehensive, end-to-end sports betting solution to licensed operators, encompassing front-end technology, customer intelligence, risk management and odds compilation, all delivered through proprietary, in-house developed software. The business operates internationally and partners with a broad range of regulated gaming operators. The successful candidate will join a well-established commercial legal team of approximately thirty collegiate professionals, providing legal support to the business globally. About the Role The Senior Legal Counsel will have primary responsibility for the drafting, review and negotiation of complex commercial agreements with customers and suppliers. The role will also involve advising on a range of ancillary legal matters, which may include intellectual property, data protection, corporate matters, employment issues and dispute resolution, depending on business needs and the individual’s experience. In addition, the role will include responsibility for supporting and mentoring junior members of the legal team. Responsibilities Drafting, review and negotiation of complex commercial agreements with customers and suppliers. Advising on a range of ancillary legal matters, including intellectual property, data protection, corporate matters, employment issues and dispute resolution. Supporting and mentoring junior members of the legal team. Qualifications A minimum of 5 to 6 years’ post-qualification experience. Substantial experience advising on complex commercial transactions, including direct engagement with internal stakeholders and senior management. Strong commercial contract negotiation skills. Experience in additional practice areas such as intellectual property, corporate law and/or disputes. Excellent academic credentials and training. The ability to analyse complex commercial issues and provide clear, pragmatic and commercially focused advice. The confidence to advise on legal matters outside core areas of expertise, including unfamiliar jurisdictions, through the application of sound legal and commercial principles.
