Overview
Pentagon Motor Group is seeking a Service Advisor to join their Scunthorpe team.
The role focuses on delivering excellent aftersales service, handling customer enquiries, promoting value‑added services, coordinating workshop loading, and maintaining high standards of documentation and communication.
The Service Advisor acts as the key liaison between customers and the workshop to ensure a professional, customer‑centric experience.
The working hours are Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 18:00.
Responsibilities
- Provide a high standard of courtesy and integrity when dealing with customers and the public.
- Ensure customers understand the nature and cost of repairs, the work required, and timescales involved.
- Communicate effectively in person and via phone, text, or email to keep customers updated throughout their vehicle’s service journey.
- When checking customers in, explain that a Visual Health Check (VHC) is carried out as a duty of care to help keep them safe on the road.
- Advise customers clearly of identified work, provide information to help informed decisions, and highlight benefits of Pentagon Motor Group carrying out the work.
- Keep customers updated on progress and provide daily updates if the vehicle remains at the dealership.
- On collection, explain all work completed and inform customers about any Net Promoter Score (NPS) survey related to their service experience.
- Always walk the customer to their vehicle or bring it to the door on collection.
- Workshop & Job Management
- Receive and convert customer enquiries into confirmed bookings.
- Operate the workshop loading system to maximise technician efficiency and minimise idle time.
- Take responsibility for your own job repair orders (WIP) and ensure accurate same-day invoicing of completed retail work.
- Quote correct repair times on all repair orders to maximise sold hours and labour revenue.

- Previous experience in a similar role.
- Experience in a busy, fast-paced office environment.
- Exceptional customer service skills and a positive can‑do attitude.
- Ability to remain calm and manage difficult situations.
- Confidence, resilience, energy, professionalism, and strong communication.
- Excellent organisational skills and a methodical approach to workload.
- Strong administration skills and high attention to detail.
- Willingness to learn and develop; an enthusiastic, team‑oriented mindset.
- Experience in a Motor Trade Aftersales setting would be advantageous.
