Penta Consulting are a technology service provider and leading outsourced partner helping to deliver professional and managed solutions across EMEA. We are looking for an experienced PowerMax Engineer to join our enterprise infrastructure team. This role is ideal for someone with deep expertise in high-performance block storage and mission-critical environments.
You will be responsible for designing, managing, and optimising Dell PowerMax storage platforms supporting core business applications and databases.
Summary- Design, deploy, and manage PowerMax (VMAX) storage environments
- Administer SAN infrastructure (Fibre Channel / iSCSI)
- Provision and optimise storage for databases, virtualisation, and enterprise workloads
- Perform system upgrades, patching, and lifecycle management
- Monitor performance, capacity, and availability across storage arrays
- Troubleshoot complex storage and connectivity issues
- Implement replication, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions (SRDF, snapshots)
- Ensure security, compliance, and best practices across storage environments
- Collaborate with application, database, and virtualisation teams
- Block storage and SAN technologies
- Fibre Channel zoning and multipathing
- High-availability and replication concepts
- Proven hands-on experience with Dell PowerMax / VMAX
- Experience supporting enterprise databases (Oracle, SQL Server, SAP)
- VMware / Hyper-V environments
- Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning skills
- Knowledge of storage provisioning and capacity planning
- Experience with SRDF (replication) and Metro configurations
- Familiarity with Dell tools (Unisphere, Solutions Enabler)
- Scripting/automation (Python, PowerShell, Ansible)
- Experience with NVMe-based storage environments
- Dell Proven Professional certifications or equivalent
