Senior Electrical Engineer – Woking, Surrey, UK, Fixed Term Contract: 12‑16 months, Salary: Circa £80k – Negotiable based on experience. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the UK.
The Senior Electrical Engineer may operate within the Core Engineering Team or PMT project team environment. He may have engineer‑grade Electrical personnel under his responsibility and will be tasked with their control and management and the delegation of activities to such support personnel. He may work under the supervision of a Lead Electrical Engineer in which case his responsibilities will be as delegated.
Responsibilities- Day‑to‑day control of FEED/EPC electrical engineers in the preparation of calculations, cable sizing, loads, SLDs, switchgear and interfaces, power system automation, etc.
- Provide timely comments on FEED/EPC deliverables and ensure their implementation.
- Oversee the design of electrical systems, including power distribution and lighting systems.
- Ensure electrical designs comply with industry standards and regulations.
- Review and approve electrical load calculations and system analysis.
- Review and approve electrical engineering drawings and specifications.
The Senior Electrical Engineer will report, within the Core Technical Team, to the FEED/Technical Leader via the Lead Electrical Engineer, or directly if appropriate. For service within the PMT Teams, the Senior Electrical Engineer will report to the Project Head/Senior Project Engineer via the Lead Electrical Engineer or directly if appropriate. The Senior Electrical Engineer manages the output of engineer‑grade personnel working under his authority and liaises with other discipline personnel in the Technical Core Team or PMT teams as appropriate.
Client InterfaceClient reporting interface shall be via the FEED/Technical Leader for Technical Core Team service, or via the Project Head/Senior Project Engineer for PMT service.
QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering discipline.
Knowledge / Experience (Skills)- At least 12 years of experience; 8 years within engineering for major Oil and Gas/Petrochemical projects.
- PMC experience at similar role for several years is preferable.
- Knowledge of Saudi Aramco Desktop Standard and procedures/practices is beneficial.
- Computer literate with all MS Packages, particularly Word and Excel proficient.
- Previous exposure to construction and commissioning phases is beneficial but not mandatory.
