Penspen are looking for a High Pressure Gas Technician for our Asset Management team to be based in the North area.
Main Purpose Of RoleTo safely operate, maintain, repair and improve clients' assets within the Gas Energy sector. Undertaking works in a safe and efficient manner, ensuring excellent levels of quality and customer satisfaction. There may be a requirement for overnight stays during the execution of works. Working on High Pressure down to Low Pressure Gas Regulators meeting regulatory compliance for PSSR. Performing mechanical maintenance on Gas network assets for multiple clients.
Please apply if you are a Qualified HP Technician (worked on regulator/governor) or if you have Gas safe - CMA1 or CCN1 - CMET1 - CMET2 - TCPC1.
Technical ExcellenceComplete maintenance on a variety of LP/IP/HP gas process equipment, i.e., commission, overhaul, functional checks. Carry out assigned duties and work without direct supervision and in potentially remote/hazardous locations. Responsible for operating and using mobile plant, mechanical lifting handling equipment, tools, and other equipment properly and safely, ensuring they are correctly maintained and stored. Operating in accordance with safety codes, legal and Company standards, all legal regulations, and other Codes. Possession of a suitable licence is required. Support development/updates to Penspen technical policies/procedures and guidance documents.
Knowledge / Experience (Skills)- Excellent organizational skills
- Experience of dealing with client/landowners, or of a similar nature (desirable)
- Solving technical problems quickly and smoothly
- Fully flexible and mobile
- Working as a Team Player and ability to work alone
- Experience of recording accurate data and good attention to detail
- Be reliable, responsible, and safety-conscious
- Able to communicate in a professional manner and in an operational environment
- NVQ Level 3 in Engineering Maintenance or an equivalent standard
- Qualified HP Technician worked on regulator or governor
- Gas Safe registered preferred for this role, however equivalent experience will be considered
- A current valid UK driving license is essential to this position
- Good computing skills required include IT applications
- Good oral, written, and interpersonal skills
There will be a requirement to travel and may be required to stay away overnight. Applicants need to have the right to live and work in the UK.
