Hybrid working - This role can be based anywhere in the UK for Hybrid working with a proximity to one of our UK offices in Neath, Newcastle, Aberdeen or London. Applicants need to have the right to live and work in the UK.

Main Purpose of Role: The Regional Business Development Manager will be responsible for growing the business aligned to a 3-year growth plan for 3 service lines, EPM, AI and AM. Key areas of growth will be focused on the following:

  • Revenue Growth: Increasing work with existing core clients
  • Winning new work with target strategic clients
  • Grow Higher margin services: Integrity Consultancy, Asset Management Consultancy
  • Differentiating & diversifying our services: Energy Transition (Hydrogen, Carbon Capture & Electrification)

Responsibilities:

  • Carries primary responsibility for developing new business and service offerings, extending existing sales for Penspen Group in the European Oil & Gas, Power and Energy Transition markets in accordance with the Company’s strategic business plan.
  • Identifies and delivers new customers and business to the Group.
  • Develops feasibility studies on the prospective markets including target clients, market spend, opportunity to Penspen, value add to clients.
  • Negotiates new business with prospective clients.
  • Maintains productive relationships with key clients to ensure Penspen maximises its exposure in a positive light.
  • Works closely with the Sales & Marketing Director, Service Line Directors and Energy Transition Director to deliver business development and sales activities.
  • Ensures sales and marketing activities are aligned with Penspen’s strategic objectives.
  • Supports Group wide BD efforts in global locations as part of the Penspen Business Development Team.
  • Where applicable and appropriate, responsible for passing on prospects and opportunities to other Penspen Regions and wider Group.
  • Builds a network within the Dar Group of companies.
  • Ownership and responsible for developing a best-in-class CRM and makes recommendations for system changes to incorporate new service offerings.
  • Manages Regional opportunities in CRM system.
  • Ownership of market intelligence platforms such as EIC, Global Data.
  • Ownership of member groups including PIG, IGEM, Hydrogen Europe, NWHA, H2 Ireland etc.
  • Inputs into forecasting based upon success likelihood of opportunities.
  • Provides updates and reports on future growth activities and CRM pipelines.
  • Works closely with Marketing to ensure project awards are published internally and externally.
  • Works closely with Marketing to support thought leadership and marketing initiatives.

Knowledge / Experience (Skills):

  • High level of organisational skills.
  • Exceptional communicator and relationship builder.
  • Specific knowledge and network within the UK and European Market for the Oil & Gas, Power, Gas Distribution Networks, Energy Transition.
  • Good Understanding of the Energy Transition activities in the UK and Europe and a sound understanding of the key country strategies including the UK, Germany, Netherlands, France, Spain, Portugal etc.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in an Oil & Gas/Power/Energy Transition consultancy/engineering/construction/sector role.
  • An understanding of key legal contract negotiation points.
  • Ability to take an opportunity from first contact to contract signature.

Qualifications:

  • Strong conceptual and/or technical understanding of consultancy, engineering, operations and maintenance activities for Oil & Gas, Power and Energy Transition.
  • Specific knowledge and network within the UK market graduate caliber.
