Overview
Location: Woking, Surrey
Duration: 12-16 month Fixed Term Contract
Salary: Circa £70k - Negotiable depending on sector experience.

Penspen are looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer. The primary location is Woking, Surrey; you may be required to work in Al Khafji, KSA.
The Senior Electrical Engineer may operate within the Core Engineering Team or PMT project team environment. They may have engineer grade Electrical personnel under their responsibility and will be tasked with their control and management and the delegation of activities to such support personnel. They may work under the supervision of a Lead Electrical Engineer in which case their responsibilities will be as delegated.
The Senior Electrical Engineer may be in charge of any or all of the following tasks.
Knowledge / Experience (Skills)
- At least 12 years of experience; 8 years of them within the field of Engineering for major Oil and Gas/Petrochemical projects.
- PMC experience at similar role for at least several years is preferable.
- Knowledge of Saudi Aramco Desktop Standard and procedures/practices is beneficial.
- Computer literate with all MS Packages, particularly Word and Excel proficient.
- Previous exposure to construction and commissioning phases is beneficial but not mandatory.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering discipline.
Responsibilities
- Day to day control of FEED/EPC electrical engineers in preparation of calculations, cable sizing, loads, SLDs, switch gear and interfaces, power system automation etc.
- Provide timely comments on FEED/EPC deliverables and ensure their implementation.
- Oversee the design of electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting systems.
- Ensure electrical designs comply with industry standards and regulations.
- Review and approve electrical load calculations and system analysis.
- Review and approve electrical engineering drawings and specifications.
Key Relationships
PMS Interface • The Senior Electrical Engineer will, if serving in the Core Technical team, report to the FEED/Technical Leader via the Lead Electrical Engineer, or direct if appropriate. For service within the PMT Teams, the Senior Electrical Engineer will report to the Project Head/Senior Project Engineer via the Lead Electrical Engineer or direct if appropriate. The Senior Electrical Engineer will manage the output of engineer grade personnel working under his authority and will liaise with other discipline personnel in the Technical Core Team or PMT teams as appropriate to his area of service.
Client Interface • Client reporting interface shall be via the FEED/Technical Leader for Technical Core Team service, or via the Project Head/Senior Project Engineer for PMT service.
