Penspen is seeking a highly skilled Senior Process Engineer. You should have at least 5 years of demonstrable experience with process modelling tools such as HYSYS and Pipesim. Experience with Ammonia processes is a bonus.
The Senior Process Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop innovative solutions that enhance productivity and efficiency.
Main Purpose of Role:
- To deliver proposal and engineering activities from feasibility to detailed design, including process deliverables, as assigned by the lead engineer or project engineering manager, in accordance with Penspen’s quality and engineering standards.
- The role also involves developing expertise in specialist process areas such as HYSYS simulation or flow assurance.
Responsibilities:
- Manage own workload and supervise others to ensure timely and compliant delivery of project activities.
- Develop key basis of design and design philosophies alongside general process engineering deliverables.
- Ensure all work complies with client requirements, international codes, standards, and internal procedures.
- Review and check process deliverables; approval may be required in certain circumstances.
- Support estimation, planning, and management of process deliverables; may lead parts of the process scope.
- Supervise and train less experienced engineers, coordinating workload effectively.
- Identify opportunities for personal and team performance improvements and develop best practices.
- Participate in site visits, client meetings, and reviews as necessary.
- Lead or participate in safety and design reviews, including P&ID, HAZID, HAZOP, SIL, and model reviews.
- Apply expertise in process software applications such as HYSYS and flow assurance tools.
Qualifications/Knowledge/Experience:
- Degree in Chemical or Process Engineering (or equivalent).
- Chartered Engineer status (Member or Fellow).
- Strong background in onshore/offshore oil & gas process facilities and pipelines.
- Experience in developing process deliverables like PFDs, P&IDs, datasheets, and specifications.
- Significant experience in feasibility, concept, Pre-FEED, FEED, and detailed engineering.
- Proficiency with process simulation software (HYSYS, Promax) and other tools (Flare System Analyser, ERD, Flaresim, Pipenet).
- Knowledge of relief, blow-down studies, PSV sizing, and HAZOP processes.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Understanding of relevant standards and codes for oil & gas facilities.
- Experience with flow assurance tools like OLGA, Pipesim, TGNet.
- Proactive in expanding technical knowledge, including LNG development.
