Penspen www.penspen.com are currently recruiting for an Onshore Ltd contract Senior Control & Instrumentation Engineer β G17 Appraiser.
Role Purpose
Provide senior-level technical leadership in control and instrumentation engineering across all project phases. Ensure safe, compliant, and efficient C&I designs, act as a subject matter expert, and support project delivery while mentoring junior engineers.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead preparation, review, and approval of C&I engineering deliverables (control philosophies, instrument datasheets, loop diagrams, C&E charts, specifications).
- Ensure designs comply with relevant standards (IEC, ISA, API, ATEX) and meet client requirements.
- Serve as C&I Discipline Lead on projects, coordinating with other engineering disciplines.
- Provide technical support for installation, FAT/SAT, commissioning, and troubleshooting of control systems and instrumentation.
- Review vendor documents and manage technical queries.
- Participate in HAZOP/HAZID/SIL and other safety-related studies to ensure system integrity.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to continuous improvement of discipline tools and standards.
Required Experience & Skills
- Extensive C&I engineering experience within oil & gas, pipelines, or energy sectors.
- Strong understanding of instrumentation selection, control systems (PLC/DCS/SCADA), and hazardous area design.
- Ability to independently lead C&I design and manage discipline scope.
- Familiarity with relevant international standards and industry best practices.
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
