ARTnews, the world's leading authority in art journalism, seeks a UK-based staff reporter. Reporting to the Executive Digital Editor, this reporter will be responsible for an average of two online articles per day, as well as several longer features per month. The ideal candidate will be a strong, independent operator ready to serve as ARTnews's eyes and ears in London and the broader European art market.
As our sole representative in the region, you will need to be self-motivated, communicative, and able to juggle multiple aspects of the art beat — from profiles of rising dealers and artists and Q&As with auction house specialists and collectors, to analytical features examining artists' markets across categories ranging from Old Masters to Ultra-Contemporary. You will be expected to contribute to On Balance, our weekly scoops-driven newsletter on the art market, as well as coverage of auctions and fairs, with a particular emphasis on sales in London, Paris, and Switzerland.
Strong, clean copy is essential, as is some comfort with editing: you will share responsibility for writing and editing our morning digest newsletter Breakfast With ARTnews. This role requires onsite work 4 days a week and 1 day remote, with a focus on maintaining a vibrant and inclusive culture.
Requirements- Minimum 2–4 years of experience in journalism, ideally covering the art market or art world. Candidates from outside these fields are encouraged to apply if they have excellent, dogged reporting skills and a demonstrated ability to learn a beat quickly.

- Familiarity with SEO best practices.
- Some experience editing copy for publication.
- Experience using content management systems and social media platforms.
- Pitch, report, and write stories on the art market and art world in the UK and Europe, balancing breaking news with original features and longer enterprise reporting.

- Assist in the production of Breakfast With ARTnews, our morning digest newsletter.
- Collaborate with video and social media editors as needed to develop storytelling across platforms.
