Head of DC, Master Trusts & Lifetime Savings
The Government has launched a Pensions Commission and is progressing the Pensions Schemes Bill, introducing reforms that will shape the future of the sector and outcomes for millions of savers for decades to come.
At this exciting time, you will lead Pensions UK’s public policy work in the areas of DC, Master Trusts and Lifetime Savings. Your work will be at the heart of these significant changes and influence the direction of government and regulatory policy so that everyone has a better income in retirement. You will maintain Pensions UK’s standing as a strong voice in policy and industry debates and the media with insightful, evidence‑based views.
Key responsibilities
- Develop policies on DC, Master Trusts and Lifetime Savings to influence public policy in line with our strategic and tactical objectives, producing high‑quality policy papers, consultation responses and evidence‑based research reports.
- Work closely with the Deputy Director of Policy & Regulation, the Pensions UK Policy Board and other governance committees to implement policies from Pensions UK’s work programme.
- Be a member of the Policy & Advocacy Management Team, responsible for effective functioning of the Policy & Advocacy Directorate and, when needed, leading a team and collaborating with cross‑functional teams.
- Provide practical support to members on policy‑related issues through guides, presentations and direct engagement.
- Provide high‑quality support to the Policy Board and other governance bodies to ensure the industry’s views are understood.
- Advise the Policy Board, governance bodies, Director of Policy & Advocacy and Chief Executive as required.
- Act as a spokesperson for Pensions UK at industry events and the media.
- Represent Pensions UK at meetings with senior officials, ministers, parliamentarians and industry leaders.
- Build strong links with government, regulators, trade associations and Pensions UK’s fund and business members to influence the right people at the right time.
- Provide insight for programme development for conferences and events, ensuring relevant and interesting content.

Benefits and package
Salary between £75,000 to £90,000 depending on experience.
Discretionary bonus based on performance.
