Corporate Sustainability Lead
Location: Croydon Head Office (from 2 days per week) + Remote Working
Salary: £56,000 – £60,000 per annum – excellent benefits including Civil Service pension

The Pension Protection Fund’s main function is to provide compensation to members of eligible defined benefit pension schemes, when there is a qualifying insolvency event in relation to the employer, and where there are insufficient assets in the pension scheme to cover the Pension Protection Fund level of compensation.
The PPF is the size of a top 5 pension scheme in the UK, managing over £30billion AUM for almost 300,000 members, with an exceptional team of over 450 people. We have won IPE Pension Fund of the year 4 times in the past 5 years and have an exceptional reputation.

In this newly created standalone role we’re looking for a Corporate Sustainability Lead to develop and lead the PPF Corporate Sustainability Plan, ensuring sustainability goals are aligned with our core business operations.
Some key responsibilities include coordinating working groups and building relationships with all teams involved with the corporate sustainability strategy and to agree quantitative environmental, supply chain and other sustainability metrics to measure progress. Additionally you’ll be involved in translating insights into developed environmental reduction plans and to improve the PPF’s technical understanding of the latest corporate sustainability reporting standards to ensure the PPF meets applicable reporting requirements.
We see this as an opportunity for an individual to utilise their experience of sustainability approaches from within the financial services / pensions industry. You’ll have experience driving sustainability initiatives across an organisation, understanding the appropriate reporting requirements and the general framework and best practices that guide delivery. You’ll have excellent influencing and stakeholder management skills with experience presenting to non-technical and technical audiences. Finally you’ll be able to obtain buy-in from the business and role model sustainability practices across the employee population.
